Member Service Consultant - Sahara Branch, Las Vegas, NV Are you passionate about delivering exceptional service and building strong relationships with customers? We are seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join our team as a Member Service Consultant at our Sahara Branch in Las Vegas, NV. The Member Service Consultant is responsible for delivering exceptional service in person or via video to both members and the team. The MSC performs a broad variety of member service functions including managing lobby traffic, opening and servicing consumer and business accounts, interviewing, counseling, and cross-selling credit union products and services to deepen member relationships. The MSC is responsible for managing workload and taking action to achieve assigned sales and service goals. The MSC may work independently with additional duties such as opening and closing of the branch.
Schedule: Availability Monday-Friday 8:45 AM - 5:15 PM and Saturdays 8:45 AM - 1:15 PM (Rotating Saturdays)
Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred
Key Responsibilities
Open and service consumer and business accounts, interview, counsel, and cross-sell credit union products and services to deepen member relationships.
Perform account maintenance (e.g., address changes, disputes, replacement check and card orders, IRA maintenance, deposits, and payment processing) primarily by using the member-facing remote delivery option when possible. Educate members on future servicing needs via digital channels.
Make decisions on fee reversals, courtesy credits (service recovery), and provisional credit within assigned authority.
Contact prospective and current members via phone and/or email to offer information on products and services to obtain additional business.
Manage lobby traffic and engage with members using a welcoming and professional demeanor; identify and address service or sales needs.
Act as member advocate resolving account service issues, connecting with experts as needed, and responding promptly and effectively throughout resolution.
Maintain deep working knowledge of all credit union products and services; exhibit strong sales and service skills and educate members on available access channels (ATM, Online, Mobile, etc.). Connect members to appropriate internal or external partners as necessary.
Participate in branch development activities in coordination with branch management, community development, and business development as needed.
Answer questions and refer issues requiring second-level support to appropriate personnel. Ensure members understand next steps, follow up as required, and resolve matters to the member's satisfaction.
Use sound judgment and execute financial transactions in accordance with credit union policies and procedures while maintaining acceptable daily balancing.
Complete other duties as assigned including assisting with coverage at other locations or departments (Member Care Center, Account Services, or other back-office departments).
Qualifications To perform this job successfully, the individual must possess strong multitasking, customer service, and communication skills. The individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education And/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Minimum one year of sales or retail experience in a fast-paced, customer service environment
Computer Skills
Proficient in navigating a PC and internet browser
Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 products (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel)
Working knowledge of smartphones and using apps
Interpersonal Skills Courtesy and tact are essential elements of the job. Work involves personal contact with members and others inside and outside the organization, generally regarding routine matters for the purposes of giving and obtaining information, updating, or referring.
Other Skills And Abilities
Strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to work independently to manage and follow-up on assigned tasks
Ability to multitask, anticipate members’ needs, and creatively recommend solutions to provide a positive outcome
Must be punctual with reliable attendance and the ability to use time effectively
The expected pay range for this role at Rize Federal Credit Union is $20.00 - $25.00/hour. The listed salary range applies to candidates located in Nevada. Actual compensation is determined by experience, education, skills, internal equity, and other job-related factors.
As part of the hiring process, candidates who receive a contingent offer will undergo a background investigation, which may include employment verification, credit review, criminal records search, Social Security verification, and government registry checks. Candidates must also meet eligibility requirements to be bonded under a fidelity bond.
