Chicago, and New York, (Hybrid – 2–3 days in office; Tuesdays are anchor days for the Real Estate group with a team practice lunch) Compensation: Competitive base salary (commensurate with experience) + overtime eligibility and performance bonus Job Description: This opportunity sits within an AMLAW 200 firm known for its strong focus on finance, financial markets, and complex commercial transactions. The Real Estate group supports sophisticated financing and lending matters and works closely with attorneys across corporate, banking, and structured finance practices. The team handles high-value real estate transactions with an emphasis on real estate finance, secured lending, and commercial closings, offering paralegals meaningful responsibility and direct involvement in deals from start to finish. About the Role: As a Commercial Real Estate Paralegal, you will play a key role in supporting attorneys on complex commercial real estate and finance transactions. You’ll be involved throughout the lifecycle of a deal, from diligence through closing, working closely with attorneys, clients, and third parties. Your Work Will Include: Reviewing and analyzing title commitments, surveys, and related curative documentation Assisting with commercial real estate closings, including preparation and coordination of closing checklists and deliverables Drafting and reviewing loan documents, mortgage documents, and financing-related agreements Managing diligence materials and maintaining organized closing files Coordinating with lenders, borrowers, title companies, and opposing counsel Supporting attorneys on secured lending and real estate finance transactions Tracking key deadlines and ensuring smooth execution of closings What They’re Looking For: Prior experience as a commercial real estate paralegal, preferably in a law firm environment Strong familiarity with real estate finance, loan documentation, mortgages, and closings Experience reviewing title and survey materials Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills Comfortable managing multiple matters simultaneously Strong written and verbal communication skills Collaborative mindset and interest in working within a close-knit team Billable Hours & Bonus: Billable requirement starts at 1,500 hours Hours and workload reviewed after the first year based on comfort and preference Bonus eligibility begins after 1,500 billable hours Why This Opportunity Stands Out: This role offers exposure to high-quality, finance-driven real estate work at a firm known for its collegial culture and long-term employee retention.
