
Overview
Salem Media looking for an experienced radio news anchor to provide daily, on-air newsgathering and delivery for two top 10 radio markets. The ideal candidate will have demonstrable ability to work under pressure, meet hard deadlines, and gather, write, and deliver newscasts. Excellent writing skills are necessary. A minimum of 5 years of on-air anchor experience in major market is required.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include preparing and delivering newscasts twice an hour each weekday morning, as well as preparing recorded reports for broadcast later in the day. Additional responsibilities may be required on as needed basis. Must be available for early morning (3a-11a) hours. This position will be based in the Chicago market.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have previous experience producing content in an audio/video production environment and will have excellent editorial, storytelling and technical skills. Candidates must be highly familiar with Chicago and Illinois news and political landscapes.
Necessary skills and qualifications include: Strong writing, speaking, and interviewing skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines. Excellent understanding of current events and journalistic ethics. Critical thinking and fact-checking ability. Adaptability and willingness to learn new technologies. Benefits
