**Summary**The Manager, Public and Media Relations is a key contributor to Atlanta Housing’s communications efforts—producing high‑quality, executive‑ready writing and supporting the successful execution of high‑profile events and activations. This role blends strong editorial skill with hands‑on event coordination to help advance the agency’s mission, reputation, and stakeholder trust.The ideal candidate is a detail‑oriented, highly collaborative communicator who excels at turning complex work into clear, compelling narrative. They manage multiple priorities under deadline, deliver polished and accurate materials, and help ensure events are well‑planned, memorable, and aligned with AH’s strategic story.**Role and Responsibilities:*** Lead day-to-day execution for Atlanta Housing press events and convenings (groundbreakings, ribbon cuttings, closings, tours, announcements, partner events), ensuring both communications readiness and day-of support* Build and maintain event workbacks, deliverables lists, and staffing coordination documents; coordinate cross-functional inputs to keep event planning and communications deliverables on track* Draft and package event communications materials including event narrative/theme, key messages, run-of-show language, stakeholder materials, and post-event recaps/toolkits* Partner with Marketing & Branding to coordinate promotional support and creative deliverables as needed* Draft and refine executive-ready materials, including leadership remarks, talking points, briefing notes, stakeholder correspondence, and presentation narratives* Elevate written products through strong structure, message hierarchy, clarity, and AP style consistency; serve as an editorial resource across the agency for Public & Media Relations deliverables* Develop messaging frameworks that connect development milestones, program outcomes, resident impact, and partnerships into cohesive external narrative* Maintain reusable messaging tools (boilerplates, key message sets, standard Q&A frameworks) to improve speed, consistency, and quality* Support proactive workstreams by packaging story angles and outreach-ready materials* Draft and edit communications deliverables as assigned, including FAQs, stakeholder updates, web-ready copy, event toolkits, briefing materials, and media support materials* Ensure disciplined fact-checking, version control, and approvals before distribution* Support performance tracking for events and communications efforts (basic engagement signals, stakeholder feedback, earned pickup indicators); identify improvements* Capture lessons learned after events and major milestones, update playbooks, templates, and checklists* Perform other communications-related duties as assignedKnowledge and Skill Requirements* Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field* · 5–8+ years of progressive communications experience, with demonstrated success producing high-quality written content and supporting event execution.* ·Exceptional writing and copy-editing skills across formats; ability to translate complex or technical information into clear, compelling narrative; expert command of AP style; portfolio required.* Strong organizational and project-management abilities, capable of managing multiple simultaneous workstreams, deadlines, and cross-functional inputs.* Highly collaborative, with a willingness to roll up their sleeves and contribute beyond defined duties to support team priorities and ensure high-quality outcomes.* Exceptional attention to detail and a calm, solutions-oriented approach under deadline pressure.* Proficiency with or ability to master project-management tools (e.g., Asana, Trello,* Monday) and Microsoft Office Suite* Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint required* Familiarity with web, marketing, and creative platforms, such as MailChimp, WordPress,* and Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator).**Working Conditions**Works in an office environment.
