The Director Technical Sales will lead Medbio’s quoting and technical sales functions, ensuring that every proposal balances commercial competitiveness, technical feasibility, and profitability. This role is accountable for driving disciplined quoting processes, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of proposals, and capturing non-recurring engineering (NRE) revenue to protect margin integrity. The Director Technical Sales will partner with commercial, engineering, operations, and finance leaders to translate customer needs into profitable and executable programs, championing continuous improvement in quote-to-award efficiency and margin realization. The position plays a pivotal role in advancing Medbio’s technical capability roadmap and strengthening customer partnerships through innovation and precision. Major Duties and Responsibilities

Lead a high-performing team of Applications Engineers, building organizational capability in technical sales excellence, margin accountability, and customer value creation. Define and execute strategies that align quoting performance, pricing discipline, and technology differentiation with Medbio’s commercial growth goals. Implement governance systems to ensure NRE and scope are clearly defined during the quote phase, enabling downstream recovery of funds when scope changes occur. Partner with project management and finance to track and report NRE revenue performance, implementing controls to ensure all reimbursable work is captured. Establish a closed-loop feedback process comparing quoted versus actual margins, identifying trends and root causes for variance. Partner with finance and operations to refine costing models and recommend pricing adjustments based on post-launch performance. Recommend new technologies, materials, and processes during the quotation phase to enhance Medbio’s competitiveness and customer value, collaborating with operations and engineering to validate feasibility, scalability, and cost efficiency before presenting solutions to customers. Partner with Commercial and Project Engineering to ensure seamless handoff from award to launch with complete and accurate technical data packages. Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quote efficiency, accuracy, and throughput using metrics such as quote turnaround time, win rate, and NRE capture rate. Drive collaboration with Marketing and Sales to develop case studies that highlight Medbio’s technical strengths. Participate in customer visits, audits, and business reviews to represent Medbio’s engineering and manufacturing capabilities with authority and credibility. Lead CRM and ERP integration efforts for quoting and margin analytics. Experience and/or Educational Requirements

12–18+ years of experience in technical sales, estimating, or commercial engineering, preferably in the medical device contract manufacturing industry. Proven leadership experience overseeing quoting or technical sales teams. Strong technical knowledge of injection molding, tooling, and manufacturing processes. Strong business acumen with an understanding of cost modeling, pricing, and profitability analysis. Exceptional communication and presentation skills with experience engaging directly with customers at multiple levels. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Biomedical, Industrial, or related field) required; advanced degree preferred. Physical Requirements

Must be able to perform the standard practices required in this type of role within the industry, including frequent travel (40–50%) to customer sites, industry events, and Medbio facilities.
