Q2 is a mission-driven company focused on building strong and diverse communities by strengthening their financial institutions. To help fulfill this mission and commitment to the community, we seek an energetic, talented, experienced and passionate communications team member who will help execute against our external communications strategy. This person will help manage our public relations deliverables – create and own PR planning for one or more key business areas - writing and distributing press releases, supporting award applications, supporting Q2 thought leadership plans, building relationships with the media and others in support of Q2's brand reputation. This position will be based in Austin and reports to Sr. Manager, Marketing Communications.**RESPONSIBILITIES**• Works closely with the Senior Manager, Marketing Communications to determine PR needs across assigned lines of business (LOBs) - announcements, product announcements, PR campaigns, etc.• Manages a comprehensive PR calendar to ensure appropriate coordination with stakeholders, important deadlines are met, and the entire team is taking advantage of critical PR opportunities• Assists in writing, editing, and distributing press releases• Collaborates with Q2 Leaders to determine stories and speaking topics to be brought to the market via thoughtful PR campaigns• Writes press releases for awards and speaking announcements• Executes social media strategy by drafting and assisting the social media lead with posting for assigned PR areas/LOBs every week• Writes engaging social media copy that elevates Q2's voice within the market• Reviews monthly reporting of social media metrics and provides recommendations for improvement for assigned PR areas/LOBs• Engages with industry thought leaders and influencers on social media• Submits applications for awards and speaking opportunities• Develops communications plans for designated PR areas/LOBs for award and speaking announcements**EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE**• Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, English or a related degree and a minimum of 5+ years of related experience• Experienced communications professional that is passionate with a high degree of empathy. Someone who cares about and values the role of communications to win the hearts and minds of our people• Eagerness to learn and develop new PR and social media skills• Ability to take what has been learned and apply it daily• Strong interpersonal skillsare needed, and one must be comfortable in front of C-level executives• An exceptional writer with the ability to create compelling messages that effectively and clearly communicate to target audiences• Deep understanding of social media platforms and their ever-changing features and functionalities• Keenly aware of the importance of diversity, equity and inclusion as an essential element of communications best practice• Creative and proactive in bringing new ideas and approaches to better achieve the goals and objectives of the program• Ability to think strategically, create compelling and interesting PR and social media campaigns, and report on results• Must have the ability to build a strong relationship with cross-functional teams quickly• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are a must• A “team player” who is results-oriented• Superior collaboration and interpersonal skills and the ability to interface with all levels of management.
