The **University of Southern California Capital Campus** in Washington, D.C. is USC's anchor on the East Coast, providing immersive experiences for students, a home for Trojan alumni and a destination for impactful and thought-provoking research and conversations. To support its exciting and growing programming, the Capital Campus is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented and enthusiastic Coordinator, Events and Communications to join our team and expand our ability to serve the Trojan Community in Washington, D.C. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment and wants to grow within their role at a large research university.**About the Opportunity**The **Coordinator, Events and Communications** will provide critical support, assisting with the management of events and communications activities at the USC Capital Campus in Washington, D.C.Duties will include supporting the production and execution of campus events, coordinating event venue rentals, assisting with the creation of social media content, developing marketing and communications materials, managing administrative tasks and other duties as assigned. This position will work directly with USC faculty, staff, students and Capital Campus interns. The coordinator will also work directly, on an as-needed basis, with vendors as well as USC parents, donors and alumni. The ideal candidate will be an energetic self-starter, highly organized, a great team player and a proactive communicator.The Coordinator, Events and Communications will be expected to develop strong relationships and collaborate closely with the Capital Campus team and internal and external partners and stakeholders.This position is based at USC’s Capital Campus in Washington, D.C. This position may require occasional overtime, including mornings, evenings or weekends in support of Capital Campus activities and scheduled events. The position reports to the Director of Events and Communications.**Key Responsibilities:****Event Support:*** Support the planning and execution of all USC Capital Campus-hosted events.* Assist with the event registration process, including attendee list creation, reservations and event check-in.* Aid in the development and management of event budgets.* Conduct background research in preparation for events.**Venue Coordination and Support:*** Oversee the contracting process for Capital Campus venue spaces, including preparing event contracts and managing invoicing and payments with event clients.* Support the coordination of event logistics with onsite facilities staff and vendors, including front desk, security and janitorial personnel.* Produce internal event coordination materials, including banquet event orders, to ensure logistical alignment ahead of events.* Aid in the management of the Capital Campus event calendar.* Ensure all venue spaces are set appropriately for events.* Oversee delivery, load-in and load-out of all event vendors.**Communications Support**:* Assist in drafting Capital Campus communications, including newsletter content, email communications and website content.* Aid in the development of social media content, including posts, images, videos, reels, stories and infographics.* Support the execution of strategic communications initiatives, including the development of communications plans, press lists, press releases, media advisories, slide decks and news stories.Manage all other duties as assigned.**Qualifications:*** Bachelor's degree* Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills* Ability to manage multiple projects, events and deadlines effectively* Strong organizational skills and ability to coordinate complex scheduling* Comfort working independently and collaboratively in a team setting* Ability to work under deadlines in a fast-paced environment* Exercise tact and good judgment with sensitive information and high-level individuals* Positive attitude and passion for USC**Preferred Qualifications:*** Experience with event planning and execution* Experience using Microsoft and Google suites of products (Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Google Docs, Google Forms, Google Sheets, etc.)* Experience using social media platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.) and social media content creation* Experience using graphic design software (Adobe suite, Canva, etc.)* Bilingual proficiency (English and Spanish)* Ability to work mornings, nights and weekends as neededIn addition, the successful candidate must also demonstrate, through ideas, words and actions, a strong commitment to .**To be considered for this position, please include a cover letter in addition to your resume/CV.**The hourly rate range for this position is $28.50 - $30.00, with the opportunity for overtime.
