BCSC Event Manager
Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation, Columbus, Indiana, United States, 47201
Overview
The Event Manager is responsible for the security, operations and maintenance of a BCSC space that is used for a scheduled event by external user groups. They must remain on site and in contact with the user for the duration of the event, except for any agreed upon meal breaks for longer events. The Event Manager represents BCSC to our External Users and should maintain good customer service techniques while protecting the BCSC facility at all times.

Make contact with the user prior to the event to confirm access times, event times, and any special needs or setup issues to be communicated beforehand. Coordinate setup and tear down of the event in conjunction with Building Personnel.
Open the facility to the spaces needed as laid out in the user agreement form on file; at no point should access be granted to other areas without approval. Ensure all building areas are secure upon leaving at the close of the event, including checking outside entrances to prevent post‑event access.
Coordinate with BCSC Maintenance and notify appropriate Building Personnel and BCSC Facilities about any damage noticed prior to or during the event.
Be prepared to handle minor maintenance emergencies, such as restocking consumable supplies or managing spills or other incidents that may endanger users or the space.
Adhere to all BCSC Safety Procedures (universal precautions, fire alarms, inclement weather, biological and chemical threats, armed intruder and bomb threats) and interface with Emergency Services Personnel as needed when on duty.
Know the location and operation of special equipment available in the BCSC space (e.g., scoreboards, athletic equipment, sound reinforcement, projectors, screens, playback devices, theatrical lighting).
This role is "as needed" depending on the number of external rentals in place. Pay is $30/hr and there are no benefits associated with the position.
