Job Summary/Description KEYC News Now is searching for that rare talent who can not only chase down a story but also command the anchor desk and produce a killer newscast. If you're a storyteller who thrives on urgency, connects deeply with people, and sees every platform—from broadcast to TikTok—as an opportunity to inform, then get ready to make your mark. We are talking about owning the news from concept to air (and online!), delivering content that truly resonates with our viewers.

Responsibilities

Create compelling content: Report, shoot, write, voice, and edit daily news stories for both television and our buzzing digital platforms, making sure every piece is relevant and engaging.

Lead the newscast: Anchor and produce dynamic newscasts as needed, bringing energy and authority to every broadcast and ensuring our viewers are informed and connected.

Own the story cycle: From generating 3+ fresh story ideas daily to breaking news live on location, you'll be the force driving our local coverage.

Drive digital engagement: Master social media and online news production, updating our website and social accounts throughout the day with urgency and immediacy.

Connect with the community: Build authentic relationships and truly "think like a viewer," delivering news that matters most to the local community.

Collaborate seamlessly: Work hand-in-hand with the news team, bringing a great attitude and leadership skills to every shift, even when schedules shift.

Uphold our standards: Adhere to the highest standards of news judgment, ethics, and station branding in all content you create.

Qualifications/Requirements

A Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Journalism, English, or a related field—you've got the foundation.

Proven broadcast journalism experience; you know the rhythm of a newsroom and the demands of live television.

Exceptional writing and verbal communication skills: You craft balanced, clear, and concise copy that grabs attention.

A true digital-first mindset: You don't just understand digital/social media strategy; you execute it with urgency.

Sharp news judgment and unwavering ethics: You know what's important and how to tell the story responsibly.

The grit to go get the story: Able to carry 35-45 pounds of ENG equipment and ready to cover anything from features to breaking news.

Impeccable time management skills and the ability to thrive under tight deadlines.

Integrity, accountability, and a team-player attitude—you make the newsroom better.

A valid driver's license and a clean driving record—you're ready to hit the road when news breaks.

Flexibility to work various schedules, as the news doesn't always keep regular hours.
