Broward County’s first city is undergoing an exciting renaissance, and we are seeking an experienced, strategic, and results-driven leader to serve as our Director of Public Services. The ideal candidate will direct and administer the operational aspects of all public services and divisions, e.g., project management, grants, roads, storm water and drainage, sanitation and beautification, water treatment plant, fleet maintenance, building/facilities maintenance, landscape and grounds maintenance. The incumbent applies technical and engineering expertise to a variety of complex City projects and coordinates activities of various Public Services divisional groups with other City departments including Community Development, Parks and Recreation, Finance, Procurement, City Clerk and City Attorney’s Office. The incumbent emphasizes overall administrative planning for efficient and effective utilization of facilities, personnel, and equipment. Considerable independent judgment, discretion, and initiative are exercised in carrying out daily operations. Responsibilities

Direct and administer the operational aspects of all public services and divisions, including project management, grants, roads, storm water and drainage, sanitation and beautification, water treatment plant, fleet maintenance, building/facilities maintenance, landscape and grounds maintenance. Coordinate activities with other City departments (Community Development, Parks and Recreation, Finance, Procurement, City Clerk, City Attorney’s Office) and ensure efficient use of facilities, personnel, and equipment. Exercise administrative planning and provide independent judgment, discretion, and initiative in daily operations. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Engineering or closely related field. Seven (7) to ten (10) years of public works, utilities and/or engineering experience at the administration level, including management and budget development and administration. Experience can substitute for education on a year-for-year basis. Possession of a valid driver’s license with an overall good driving record required. If out-of-state, must obtain a Florida driver’s license within 30 days of hire date. Preferred

Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Florida is preferred but not required.
