Job Description
PVD Technology Leadership (Primary Focus)
- Define and execute the long‑term strategy for PVD technology development and capability expansion.
- Lead evaluation, testing, and industrialisation of new PVD equipment, coating materials, and deposition methods.
- Ensure stability, repeatability, and high yield in PVD processes across all product lines.
- Drive R&D collaboration on new materials, coatings, and surface technologies to support upcoming collections.
- Serve as the company's technical expert for PVD troubleshooting, root‑cause analysis, and continuous optimization.
Strategic & Technical Excellence
- Oversee electroplating and other finishing processes while championing innovation in surface engineering.
- Solve complex manufacturing issues impacting quality, cost, safety, and efficiency.
- Lead structured trials, feasibility studies, and technology‑scouting initiatives.
- Strengthen cross‑plant knowledge transfer, establishing PVD best practices and standards.
- Drive continuous improvement across processes, equipment, materials, and sustainability initiatives.
- Support multi‑plant knowledge transfer and act as a Center of Excellence.
People Leadership
- Develop and mentor a high‑performing engineering team with deep PVD and finishing expertise.
- Promote a culture of innovation, data‑driven decision-making, and continuous improvement.
- Partner with senior leadership, production, quality, and R&D teams to align technical priorities with business goals.

The Successful Applicant
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience, with strong, hands‑on expertise in PVD technologies.
- Proven capability in scaling PVD processes from concept to mass production.
- Strong understanding of vacuum deposition systems, thin‑film coating, materials behaviour, and process control.
- Solid leadership experience managing engineering teams and driving cross‑functional initiatives.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem‑solving skills and ability to diagnose complex technical issues.
- Clear communication skills, able to translate technical concepts for non‑technical stakeholders.
- Fluency in English.
- Experience working in Southeast Asia (SEA) is highly advantageous, particularly in high‑volume manufacturing settings, due to the region's unique operating environments, supply chains, and labour dynamics.
