Boyce Council proudly serves over 3,500 Scouts and volunteer leaders across fourteen Central Illinois counties. From our headquarters in Peoria, we provide impactful youth development programs that prepare young people for life through real-world, hands-on learning. We are seeking an energetic, mission-driven Development Director to join our team. Under the guidance of the Council Scout Executive/CEO and Director of Development, this leader will drive fundraising success in the Peoria and Bloomington/Normal communities—helping ensure Scouting continues to thrive for generations to come. Responsibilities

As the Development Director, you will boldly lead key fundraising initiatives that fuel Scouting’s mission throughout Central Illinois. You’ll organize dynamic events, strengthen partnerships, and expand the network of supporters who believe in preparing young people for extraordinary futures. Lead and manage fundraising for established special events and campaigns. Plan, promote, and execute major fundraising events, including luncheons, dinners, golf outings, and receptions. Achieve fundraising and volunteer recruitment goals, with an emphasis on engaging new donors and sponsors. Build and expand corporate and community partnerships to grow the donor base. Actively and confidently communicate the mission and impact of Scouting America. Qualifications

At least two years of event planning, fundraising, marketing, or sales experience. Strong communication skills and the ability to mobilize and inspire high-level community volunteers. Highly organized, disciplined, and detail-oriented approach. Demonstrated sales ability and comfort with donor engagement. Proven success in major gift solicitation for an advocacy or community-focused organization. Experience in planning and managing multi-faceted fundraising campaigns. Proficiency in computer applications, including donor/list database management. Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Ability to develop compelling marketing materials. Strong follow-through and the ability to meet ambitious deadlines. Collaborative leadership style with a passion for inclusivity and teamwork. Ability to travel locally and regionally, with some evening and weekend availability. Willingness to support the mission, values, and membership standards of Scouting America. (A Scouting background is helpful but not required.) Successful completion of criminal, reference, and motor vehicle background checks. Preferred Qualifications
