
Director of Materials Management
(Full Time) Location:

We are currently seeking a Director of Materials Management to lead departmental operations and support hospital‑wide goals.
Position Summary The Director leads the Materials Management department in achieving departmental and hospital‑wide objectives. This role is responsible for the operational oversight of the department, including effective collaboration with internal departments and external partners. The Director plays a key role in strategic planning, compliance, and operational efficiency related to materials, inventory, and purchasing functions.
This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer and is classified as salaried, exempt.
Key Responsibilities Include: Leading departmental operations to support hospital‑wide strategic and operational goals
Overseeing materials management, purchasing, inventory control, and contract management
Ensuring compliance with regulatory, licensing, and accreditation standards
Managing departmental budgets, vendor relationships, and group purchasing organization (GPO) engagement
Leading, developing, and supporting staff through effective leadership and performance management
QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge & Skills: Ability to manage multifaceted projects while balancing day‑to‑day operational demands
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders
Effective reasoning, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills
Strong time‑management skills with the ability to work independently and take initiative
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to demonstrate tact, diplomacy, and professionalism in all aspects of the role
Proficiency with basic computer applications; experience with Microsoft Office and relevant systems preferred
Education & Experience:
Bachelors degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Healthcare Materials Management required
Minimum of five (5) years of supervisory or leadership experience required
