
The Inside Sales Associate manages the quote process from the initial request through delivery of the final quote. They will work with internal partners to calculate and prepare quotes. Managing the quote process requires technical knowledge to analyze the customer’s requirements, identify the right resources to gather all necessary information, and accurately build a comprehensive, technical production proposal. A customer service sales approach is required to sell GMI’s capabilities and have regular communication with current and potential customers.
RESPONSIBILTIES
Receive RFQ’s, confirm receipt, organize, qualify, prioritize, and address missing information needed to prepare quotes in a timely manner. Ability to review technical specifications, engineering prints, GD&T, notes, and materials to determine the best resources required for accurate quotes. Calculate costs of raw material, machining measures, outside processes, assembly services, etc., by working closely with the Supply and Engineering departments, etc. Track, analyze, and maintain RFQ and quote data. (Track wins/loss rates, RFQ response rates, RFQ to order rates and days, new customers, RFQ to Quote to Order, etc.) Own the process of quoting Monitor industry trends and competitor activities Ensure compliance of process with QMS requirements, partnering with quality to understand those requirements Time expectations: Quoting 50%, Order Management and Coordination 20%, Customer relationship 15%, Business Development & Sales Growth (10%), Administrative and reporting 5%. Other duties as assigned REQUIREMENTS
2 or 4 year technical degree in engineering, precision machining technology, CNC Machining or physical related sciences. 1-3 years working manufacturing environment, preferable machining 1+ years in cost estimation Customer focused behaviors Read and understand technical prints Good written and verbal communication, Project Management Experience using MS Office software (e-mail, Word, Excel (advanced)), CRM, ERP US Persons (ITAR Regulations) Able to work under FFL (Federal Firearms License) No Felony or Domestic Violence Convictions EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Associates or Bachelors in a technical degree Knowledge of GD&T Understand cycle time and tooling in relation to cost Customer Relationship Software ERP software MS Office PHYSICAL DEMANDS
