
Sales Specialist - Specialty Food
Effie’s Homemade is a women-owned, Massachusetts-based baking company creating award-winning biscuits and crackers for the specialty food space. Our products are rooted in craft, quality ingredients, and a compelling brand story—and are loved by independent gourmet retailers, specialty chains, distributors, and catalogs nationwide.
We’re growing and looking for a seasoned specialty food sales representative to expand distribution, deepen key relationships, and drive sustainable revenue growth. This role is ideal for someone who knows how artisan and natural brands scale—through trust, storytelling, and smart channel strategy—not mass‑market volume selling.
What You’ll Do
Open and grow accounts across specialty, gourmet, and natural retail channels
Expand distribution and velocity with existing retailers and distributors
Present Effie’s products and brand story clearly and persuasively to specialty buyers
Partner with distributors to drive placement, promotions, and long‑term growth
Use sales data and insights to prioritize accounts and guide strategy
Collaborate with leadership on forecasting, pricing, promotions, and new launches
Represent Effie’s at specialty food trade shows, buyer meetings, and industry events
What We’re Looking For
8–10+ years of sales experience in specialty food (artisan, gourmet, natural, premium brands)
Proven success selling into independent stores, specialty chains, distributors, and online retailers
Strong existing buyer, category manager and distributor relationships in the specialty channel
Deep understanding of the specialty food sales cycle and account management
Ability to sell quality, differentiation, and brand story—not just price
Comfortable using CRM tools, KPIs, and sales data to drive performance
Excellent communicator, presenter, and negotiator
Self‑directed, organized, and comfortable in a fast‑growing, entrepreneurial environment
Willingness to travel ~25%
