Job Summary
Sets up and maintains the department according to company standards. Consistently provides friendly, courteous customer service to internal and external customers. Ensures product quality and selection. Performs other related work. Generally works 6-8 hour shifts between 4:00 am and 11:00 pm.
Typical Duties And Responsibilities
Seeks opportunities to welcome, engage, serve and thank customers, maintaining a friendly, enthusiastic customer service environment.
Address customer concerns promptly, including immediate replacement of bad product, processing returns or refunds, helping locate items, and assisting in transport when needed.
Perform receiving duties: verify orders against invoices, report shortages and claims for proper billing, break down loads and date product, cut cases, and assist with stocking and pricing.
Ensure proper merchandising for freshness and quality, rotate stock, display products attractively, discard outdated or spoiled items, and ensure proper pricing and signage; operate related equipment as needed.
Maintain cleanliness and eye-appeal of the work area, storage area, and selling floor.
Ensure a safe and secure work environment; perform duties with honesty and integrity.
Other duties as assigned or needed.
Requirements Experience
Performing basic math (add, subtract, divide and multiply) and compute weights and measures.
Ability To
Work varied shifts in a 24/7 operation, including night, weekends and holidays.
Conduct visual inspection of product and displays; read written material.
Communicate in writing to others.
Reach, lift and maneuver objects up to 50 lbs. frequently.
Push and pull fully loaded handtrucks and pallet jacks.
Stand for long periods, walk and move rapidly, bend, twist and turn frequently.
Operate related equipment with manual dexterity and hand/eye coordination.
Work with hands exposed to ice, moisture, and produce.
Learn proper handling, preparation, seasonality, perishability, product safety, sanitation procedures, and department policies.
Wear hats, hair nets, gloves, and other PPE as required.
Must be 16 years of age or older.
Perform primary duties efficiently and accurately.
Additional Requirements
Food Handlers Certification (Per State Laws).
Machines And Equipment Operated
Includes tools and equipment such as knives, wrappers, scales, compactors, garbage disposals, hand trucks, pallet jacks, fork lift and ladder.
For minors hired, hours may differ as well as machines and equipment operated.
