Topeka With overtime as required Position mission: This position will perform a variety of operational, loan processing, loan closing, loan servicing and quality control functions to support the organizational goals of Bank. Major Duties: Back up processing and review all consumer, agricultural and commercial loans in accordance with all state and federal regulations as well as Bank loan policy and procedures. Keep informed of all original, processing, appraisal, underwriting, and closing requirements. Perform pre-closing loan review for all loan documentation for accuracy and completeness. Adhere to Bank policies and procedures and comply with legal and regulatory requirements. Monitor receipt of all loan closing due diligence (flood accuracy, documents signed, title, appraisal etc.). Oversee a team of individuals, providing direction, support and training to the team as needed. Establish procedures for the ongoing monitoring of items outstanding and/or required by the loan approval and loan documents through maturity. Responsible for improving the overall quality of reporting in FiServ and C-1. Prepare instructions for the application of funds received for paydowns and/or loan payoffs. Review and pay monthly flood invoices. Manage customer inquiries (phone, email and walk-ins). Responsible for training processors and assigning training opportunities for team. Oversee loan closing and disbursements. Monitors compliance with laws and regulations throughout the financial institution. Develops internal controls to test compliance and prepares guidelines and checklists which can be used by loan review, compliance council members, and other areas that perform testing functions. Assists in assessing the effectiveness of financial institution compliance efforts. Review loan files for completeness prior to document preparation for specific RESPA, HMDA and consumer compliance requirements. Maintain current knowledge of HMDA, Fair Lending and other banking regulations. Assist and prepare for credit/lending audits and provide support to the departments regulatory program Other duties as assigned or requested. Identify and implement solutions to problems in general and urgent matters. Actively seek to add and enhance knowledge regarding developments and current trends in the industry. Seek counsel of supervisor on financial concerns or other issues as appropriate Work collaboratively with staff to maintain a team environment. Flexible to accept additional assignments as requested by leadership. Cross train for other positions to cover when necessary. Professionalism while representing bank (onsite, professional and community events and via communications) Participate and attend meetings as requested Recommend policies and procedures as it relates to area of responsibility Timely responses to inquiries for information to customers, staff, and vendors Answer telephone calls and provide a prompt response Follow Bank’s policies and procedures Other duties as assigned Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or business management preferred. Advanced knowledge of lending practices and general loan audit compliance procedures preferred. Excellent analytical skills with an aptitude for determining root cause and identifying solutions during the loan closing and disbursement processes. Full comprehension of policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements. Share the responsibility for ensuring a satisfactory and expected performance of the relevant product business including overall profitability and financial Key Performance Indicator Requires a high degree of confidentiality. Enhanced problem solving and critical thinking skills. Exceptional organizational skills, time management skills and be a self-starter. Detail oriented and ability to self-audit work to ensure accuracy Requires being reliable, responsible, and dependable to fulfill the obligations of this role Knowledge of Microsoft office (word, excel, PowerPoint, etc.) Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems Physical Demands: The physical demands described are representative to those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to stand and sit for extended lengths of time, read computer screens, talk on the phone, unpack and move supplies up to fifty (50) pounds, reach, kneel, bend, climb and balance. Vision abilities required for this job include close vision. While performing the duties of this job, the work environment is primarily a professional, deadline driven environment with interaction of internal team members and external customers. Noise level in the work environment can be loud.
