Duties Develop comprehensive cost estimates for renewable energy projects by analyzing blueprints, technical specifications, and site conditions. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to gather accurate pricing data and refine project budgets. Conduct detailed construction estimating, including material takeoffs, labor costs, equipment needs, and subcontractor quotes. Negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors to secure favorable terms while maintaining quality standards. Utilize construction management software to track costs, monitor budget adherence, and implement effective cost control strategies throughout project lifecycles. Review construction site conditions and incorporate onsite challenges into estimates to ensure realistic budgeting. Support project management teams by providing timely estimates that align with project scope, schedule, and client expectations.
Experience Proven experience in construction estimating within the renewable energy sector or related industries such as solar or wind power. Strong knowledge of construction processes, site management, and contract administration. Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively with vendors, contractors, and clients to optimize project costs. Hands-on construction site experience that provides insight into on-the-ground challenges impacting project budgets. Excellent understanding of cost control techniques, pricing strategies, and project management principles.
