With a presence in Quincy, Boston, New York City, and Rhode Island, we focus on building integrated support systems across schools, workplaces, and neighborhoods. In New York City, QARI operates GROW (Guidance, Resources, Outreach, and Wellness), a school- and community-based model that brings ESOL classes, fresh food access, social services, and family engagement programming directly to communities in Queens and the Bronx. The GROW Community Ambassador plays a central role in delivering QARI’s integrated GROW services. This is a hands‑on position that blends community outreach, program coordination, and ESOL instruction for adult immigrant learners. The ideal candidate brings strong organizational skills, cultural humility, and a passion for supporting immigrant families through education, resource navigation, and community engagement. President & CEO Key Responsibilities: ESOL Instruction & Adult Education Teach in-person conversational English classes for adult immigrant learners at GROW school sites and community partner locations. Plan and deliver student-centered lessons aligned with learner goals and proficiency levels. Incorporate communicative, task-based, and culturally responsive teaching practices. Assess learner progress using informal and formal evaluation tools; maintain accurate attendance and progress records. Provide referrals to additional education, workforce development, or social service programs as appropriate. Participate in instructional team meetings, trainings, and professional development. Community Outreach, Navigation & Program Coordination Serve as an on‑site presence at GROW partner schools to help families access resources including fresh food boxes, ESOL classes, social services, and benefits navigation. Support logistics for food distribution, nutrition classes, parent engagement events, and workshops. Assist families with SNAP/EBT enrollment, MassHealth/Medicaid (as applicable), housing assistance, and other benefits, with support from trained volunteers. Conduct outreach through flyers, phone/text communication, school events, and partner networks. Maintain data systems to track participation, outcomes, and program deliverables; contribute to reports, evaluation, and documentation. Build strong relationships with school staff, community partners, and families to support ongoing engagement and retention. Assist with interpretation/translation for families (Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese, or other languages). Contribute to outreach campaigns, newsletters, and social media content for the GROW program. Support and mentor volunteers, interns, and practicum students engaged in food access, ESOL support, and community events. Skills & Qualifications: Master’s in Public Health, Education, Social Reform, or related fields from an accredited college or university wi. Bilingual in English and Mandarin, Cantonese, Spanish or Vietnamese preferred. Strong writing and communication skills, with a “can-do” attitude and commitment to problem-solving. Demonstrated success in building relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders. Experience in data collection, analysis, and reporting is highly desirable. Comfortable using technology, including video-based telehealth and electronic health records. Preferred experience working with Asian, immigrant, and underserved communities. Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting and occasionally working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
