Provides instructional and course design expertise in the development, design, and assessment of strategies and materials to support online and hybrid educational programs. Based on the recent Proclamation: Restriction on Entry of Certain Nonimmigrant Workers (H-1B), VSU will not be sponsoring any new H-1B visa petitions until further notice. Responsibilities
Department Summary
— The Center for eLearning, in collaboration with the Center for Excellence in Learning and Teaching (CELT), supports Valdosta State University’s faculty, staff, and students through a commitment to effective, innovative teaching and learning. The Center for eLearning provides expertise in online and technology-enhanced instruction by partnering with faculty on course design, supporting students through BlazeVIEW technical assistance, and helping staff develop and deliver online training and programs. Together, eLearning and CELT create an integrated support system that empowers faculty growth, strengthens teaching practices, and enhances the overall learning experience at Valdosta State University. Typical Allocation of Duties: Design, implement, and assess courses for online and hybrid delivery (35%) Design, implement, and assess course content for online and hybrid delivery Collaborate with subject matter experts in designing new courses, revising existing courses, and developing learning activities, assessments, and rubrics (25%) Collaborate with subject matter experts in designing new courses, revising existing courses, and developing learning activities, assessments, and rubrics Provide faculty assistance in using instructional technologies and pedagogical tools such as embedded LMS tools, web conferencing platforms, and other tools integrated with the LMS (20%) Conduct quality assessment for existing and newly developed courses, providing feedback for improvements and revisions (10%) Develop and revise documents, guides, and procedures (10%) Supervisor Expectations Two years' experience building courses in D2L Brightspace Two years' experience working in an educational setting and interacting professionally with faculty and students Experience designing and/or assessing courses using Quality Matters/OCL/OSCQR within the past two years, or evidence of the application of these best practices in the design of online courses Awareness of copyright considerations for online course content Knowledge of digital accessibility standards (WCAG) and the ability to ensure documents and media are accessible to all users Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and deadlines Detail-oriented with strong proofreading and editing skills Experience working independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating initiative and effective task management Experience using Microsoft Office applications Experience coding with HTML Required Qualifications
Required Experience Bachelor’s degree and three (3) years of related work experience. Proposed Salary: $25/hr. USG Core Values
