Position Summary The Director of School Operations is responsible for ensuring a clean, safe, well-managed, and operationally efficient school environment. This role oversees campus safety, facilities operations, emergency preparedness, and daily supervision systems, working closely with school leadership, faculty, students, families, and external partners to support a secure and orderly learning environment with a strong commitment to Catholic education.

Under the direction of the School President, the Director of School Operations will work closely with the Principal, and other key staff members to develop, implement, and support in creating a safe, supportive instructional, psychological, and physical environment.

Key Responsibilities Facilities & Compliance Oversight

The Director of School Operations will serve as the main liaison to all administration, faculty and staff on issues as it relates to facility and cleaning management and will collaborate with school leadership to ensure facilities are clean, safe, functional, and supportive of learning.

Serve as main liaison with third party contracted cleaning, landscaping, and snow removal companies and other outside vendors.

Maintain the work order system and work with facilities/maintenance team to address issues accordingly.

Support enforcement of school policies related to campus use, student conduct in shared spaces (i.e. cafeteria, auditorium), and facilities safety before, during, and after school.

Work with the Athletic Department in maintaining indoor and outdoor athletic spaces.

Campus Safety & Emergency Management

Serve as main liaison with Delaware County Community College (DCCC) as it relates to safety, security, and facility issues.

Lead all school safety and security initiatives, including emergency preparedness, crisis response, and coordination with local law enforcement and medical personnel.

Develop, implement, and document all safety plans, drills, evacuations, and emergency procedures in compliance with diocesan and state requirements in accordance with the standard response protocol.

Oversee the completion and submission of required safety reports to the Office of Catholic Education and other governing entities.

Oversee campus security operations and safety protocols for all school-related events.

Serve as liaison to security vendor and respond to alerts accordingly.

Assist with the collection, tracking and maintaining of staff clearances to ensure all regulatory and diocesan requirements are met.

Operations & Student Supervision

Manage the Main Entrance Receptionist protocols and staffing, including the daily operational systems that support student supervision during arrival, transitions, lunch, dismissal, and school events.

Monitor and regulate campus access, visitor entry, and student and faculty identification systems, including supporting the hall pass system.

Coordinate parking lot safety plans and traffic flow for daily operations and special events.

Maintain a high level of visibility throughout the school day to ensure safety, order, and accountability.

Serve as a key point of contact for parents, students, faculty, and external agencies regarding safety, operations, and facilities concerns.

Support faculty and staff in maintaining safe and orderly learning environments.

Communicate serious safety or discipline matters to appropriate administration in a timely and professional manner.

Conduct regular daily walkthroughs of the building and campus to identify and safety, facility, and/or cleaning issues and address/report accordingly.

Facilitate regular operation meetings for school and events.

Additional Duties

Support crisis management efforts in collaboration with the administrative team and in accordance with the standard response protocols.

Assume other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Assistant Principals, Principal, or President.

Qualifications

Preferred bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent work experience in education, facilities management and/or law enforcement fields.

Basic computer and data entry skills and willingness to learn new software systems (i.e. PowerSchool, Akita Box, Smart Pass, etc.)

Administrative, supervisory, or leadership experience are desired where applicable.

Applicants to be practicing Catholics as verified by the pastor of the parish in which they are members.

Strong oral and communication skills.

Ability to work productively and positively with staff, parents, students and community.

Strong motivational and organizational skills.

Familiarity and experience with group training for safety, security, or pertinent health concerns.

Commitment to working with students from diverse backgrounds and with diverse learning profiles.

This is a full-time, 12-month position.
