Mountlake Church exists to see those broken by sin renewed by Jesus Christ. A Director-level role is entrusted with leading a defined ministry or service of the church, carrying responsibility for vision alignment, people, and execution. Role Summary
The Worship Director is responsible for shaping and leading the worship life of Mountlake Church. This role oversees congregational worship in gatherings, worship teams and musicians, and the songs the church sings. The Worship Director also provides leadership for creativity, production, and the discipleship of those serving within the worship ministry. Qualifications
Active commitment to Jesus Christ, the gospel, and the global Church. Alignment with Mountlake Church’s vision and core virtues: Presence, Formation, and Mission. Minimum of five years of experience in worship leadership and ministry leadership. Demonstrated theological depth and vision for integrating worship, formation, art, and everyday life. Proven organizational ability, leadership capacity, and problem-solving skills. Collaborative, humble, and service-oriented posture. Duties & Responsibilities
Music Leadership
Lead and oversee all worship music for Sunday services and church gatherings. Recruit, train, and pastor worship leaders and musicians. Schedule worship teams and plan rehearsals to ensure preparedness and consistency. Guide song selection to ensure theological clarity, musical quality, and congregational singability. Develop worship leaders who can plan, rehearse, and lead services independently. Maintain musical standards while fostering a collaborative and healthy team culture. Production & Creative Arts
Oversee all production elements for worship and events, including audio, lighting, visuals, and media. Ensure technical systems are functional, prepared, and operated with excellence each week. Lead, schedule, and train volunteers serving in sound, media, and production roles. Build systems and documentation so production teams can operate reliably without constant oversight. Coordinate technical and creative needs with the Staff for services and special events. Ensure visual and media elements support clear communication and reflect the church’s core virtues. Employment Details
Reporting Relationship: Reports to the Lead Pastor. Work Style: Self-directed role with a high level of autonomy and accountability. Schedule: Flexible, with required commitments including Sundays, staff meetings, rehearsals, and special events. Hours: Full-time position, averaging 40+ hours per week. Compensation & Hiring
This is a full-time, salaried position with an annual salary range of $60,000–$75,000, depending on experience and qualifications. A benefits package is included and will be detailed during the interview process. Candidates should expect a multi-step interview process. Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check. The Worship Director reports to and works closely with the Lead Pastor. Start date is Spring-Summer 2026.
