Overview We are searching for an experienced Sales Application Engineer at our Salt Lake City, UT facility.

The Sales Application Engineer (SAE) works closely with the Subzero Engineering sales teams to design and develop new projects using both existing and new product offerings. This role partners cross functionally with Sales, Product Management, Continuous Improvement, Supply Chain, and other internal teams to ensure all technical, commercial, and operational requirements are met for each build. The SAE plays a key role in translating customer needs into engineered solutions that support successful project execution and customer satisfaction.

Responsible for the design and execution of client projects, and to a limited extent project management, in partnership with the Sales team.
Provide technical and application support to the Sales team, including preparation of installation and technical drawings, design and use reviews, and participation in customer meetings alongside Sales.
Develop accurate bills of materials, quotes, and proposals for multiple projects each week.
Collaborate closely with assigned Sales team members to support process improvements, clarify sales support expectations, and ensure timely project completion.
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce waste in design processes to enhance customer outcomes and improve company profitability.
Troubleshoot and resolve project challenges and site discrepancies quickly and in a cost-effective manner.
Partner with Product Management to support the implementation of new and existing products, including research and development efforts, application guidance, and product improvement initiatives.
Travel to customer sites to validate designs, perform site measurements, and provide onsite support to the Sales team as needed; approximately 10% travel.
Requirements SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:
Comply with all OSHA, and company safety policies, procedures and requirements.
Report to supervision conditions or practices that are either unsafe or that may adversely impact the environment, to ensure prompt resolution of potential hazards.
Attend scheduled safety training.
Actively support the organization’s efforts to meet or exceed safety goals and plans.
Recommend improved safety practices.
Practices safe work habits and follows general safety procedures such as proper lifting and bending, ergonomics, proper use of equipment and use of personal protection equipment (PPE).
Adheres to and ensures lockout procedures are followed any time the equipment is being cleaned or maintained.
PRODUCT SAFETY AND QUALITY:
Responsible for supporting and complying with the company’s Integrated Management System, which aligns with ISO 9001 (Quality), ISO 14001 (Environmental), and ISO 45001 (Health and Safety) standards.
Promotes a culture of safety, quality, and environmental responsibility by following established IMS procedures aligned with ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 standards.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Some college coursework, Associate degree, or higher education in an engineering or technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant hands‑on experience.
Two or more years of experience using SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD modeling software.
Solid understanding of drafting and design principles, including parametric modeling concepts.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other standard business software.
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment while demonstrating strong time management, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams, including Sales, CAD and BIM drafters, Production, and Installation teams.
Working knowledge of manufacturing processes and installation or construction practices.
Experience performing site measurements or supporting field installations.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Occasional walking and standing in a manufacturing environment may be required.
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. occasionally.
Regular use of office equipment, including computers, phones, printers, and scanners.
May require occasional visits to the production floor, where safety precautions such as PPE may be necessary.
The work environment is primarily an office setting, with some exposure to manufacturing areas that may include noise, machinery, and temperature fluctuations.
