Contract: 12+ months (Contract to hire)
Job Description
This role focuses on Kubernetes platforms and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) automation. Candidates with strong experience in these areas are encouraged to apply.
You will collaborate with an engineering team responsible for building and operating infrastructure, as well as consuming public cloud services to enable self‑service automation and orchestration. Responsibilities include managing VMware‑based operations, Kubernetes container platforms administration, onboarding new internal clients, handling upgrades and platform changes, and supporting global platform standardization initiatives across the enterprise.
The Container Platform Engineer is responsible for building and maintaining core platform services that support the full lifecycle of container platforms. The goal is to simplify consumption of these services for a large internal community of developers and DevOps teams. This role is part of a small, agile group of highly skilled architects and engineers.

Leverage automation extensively to improve efficiency and eliminate repetitive manual tasks
Apply a careful and methodical approach by identifying risks, evaluating trade‑offs, and executing tasks efficiently
Analyze, diagnose, reproduce, and resolve technical issues reported by users of PaaS and CaaS platforms
Develop maintainable, reusable software with a strong emphasis on self‑service and consumer usability
Escalate complex or unresolved issues requiring deeper expertise in a timely manner
Take ownership of support requests, tracking progress and maintaining clear status communication with internal stakeholders
Report and document product defects, collaborating with other engineering teams to triage and resolve issues
Create, review, and maintain technical documentation and knowledge base articles
Required Skills & Experience The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language, with strong preference for Go and Python
Experience designing and implementing Infrastructure-as-Code APIs using interface definition tools such as Swagger/OpenAPI
Strong understanding of virtual computing environments, including hypervisors and load‑balancing concepts
Knowledge of, and preferably hands‑on experience with, identity management, access management, and certificate management
Experience designing and implementing logging, monitoring, and observability solutions for containerized environments (e.g., Fluentd/Fluent Bit, Prometheus, Grafana, Alertmanager, and similar tools)
Experience with .NET Core and the .NET Framework
Familiarity with policy engines such as Open Policy Agent (OPA) or equivalent technologies
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of three years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with at least four years of proven experience in a related field
At least two years of hands‑on experience building and maintaining container platforms such as enterprise Kubernetes or application platforms
Practical experience deploying and supporting Kubernetes on at least one public IaaS provider (e.g., major cloud service providers)
Operations and/or systems administration experience across UNIX/Linux and Windows environments
Experience with configuration management at scale, supporting large and diverse infrastructure environments
Strong networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, subnetting, routing, DNS, and timeout behavior
Understanding of distributed systems and virtualization technologies
Experience with automation and CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, Concourse, Salt, Fabric, or similar)
Proficiency with version control systems such as Git‑based platforms
Experience working in or supporting agile development environments
Exposure to advanced networking and virtualization solutions is a plus
Background in DevOps practices and culture
Strong written and verbal communication skills
