
Description
A Senior Phlebotomist is responsible for clinical laboratory duties, including:
Reception and telephone duties & proficient operation of laboratory equipment including HIS/LIS systems.
Specimen handling: receiving, processing, preparation and shipping of lab specimens for reference laboratories.
Specimen and patient registration.
Phlebotomy – collection of blood samples by venipuncture or capillary stick; therapeutic blood collection; swab collection of specific micro samples per competency.
Assignment to OP Lab locations.
Training new staff as assigned.

Required Qualifications
Washington Medical Assistant Phlebotomist Certification upon hire.
At least 2 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
Experience with the basic skills described in the essential functions of the job description.
Preferred Qualifications
Medical assistant or phlebotomy training program/course approved by WA State.

Pay and Benefits Minimum and maximum wage rates are posted in the wage range for this position. Placement on the wage range will be based on relevant experience and other factors. Additional compensation may include shift differentials, standby/on‑call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives or bonuses.
