Product Manager- Tailored Models
Zacks Investment Management, Chicago, Illinois, United States, 60290
About the Role
At Zacks Investment Management, we are building the future of outsourced investment solutions for wealth advisors. Our Tailored Models suite, powered by decades of proprietary quantitative research, allows financial advisors create truly custom SMA and ETF solutions. These deliver personalized alpha, tax efficiency, risk control, and client-specific results in a way few competitors can match.
We're looking for a strategic product leader to own and scale this high-growth offering. You'll serve as the central driver of strategy, go-to-market execution, and adoption—turning senior leadership's vision into real-world results: faster advisor onboarding, accelerated AUM growth, strong competitive positioning, and delighted clients.
This is an ideal role for someone who thrives at the intersection of business strategy, marketing, sales enablement, and client impact—not someone who needs to code models or algorithms, but who can rally cross-functional teams, craft compelling narratives around complex value, and deliver measurable growth in the wholesale asset management space.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the full product lifecycle for Tailored Models: define priorities, build the roadmap, gather requirements, and drive execution across marketing, sales, and portfolio teams.
Partner closely with senior leadership, portfolio managers, sales, compliance, and advisors to launch and scale tailored solutions that meet real client needs.
Translate advisor and client feedback into prioritized features and customizations that align with investment goals, regulations, and performance targets.
Develop and execute powerful go-to-market strategies—including campaigns, collateral, enablement programs, demos, and acquisition initiatives to drive adoption and revenue growth.
Prioritize the model pipeline and innovation opportunities based on market trends, competitive insights, client input, and AUM potential.
Act as the go-to expert and advocate for Tailored Models: represent the product in sales meetings, advisor conversations, and industry discussions, clearly articulating value and differentiating Zacks.
Stay attuned to evolving trends in personalized investing, custom models, and wealth tech to spot opportunities and keep our offering ahead of the curve.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree (advanced degree or relevant certifications like CFA a plus).
5+ years in product management, business development, or strategic marketing roles, ideally in asset/wealth management, fintech, or financial services.
Solid understanding of investment solutions (SMAs, ETFs, multi-factor models, asset allocation, portfolio customization, tax-aware strategies).
Proven cross-functional leadership: experience influencing senior executives, investment teams, sales, and compliance without needing to be the deepest technical expert.
Outstanding communication and storytelling skills: able to turn sophisticated quantitative advantages into clear, persuasive client-facing messages.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with advisor-facing platforms, custom portfolio tools, or wealth management customization.
Background launching or scaling marketing/sales-driven financial products.
Comfort with performance metrics, AUM attribution, or growth analytics.
What We Offer
Competitive compensation package with base salary, performance bonus, and long-term incentives.
Opportunity to shape a cutting-edge, research-backed offering at a leading independent investment firm.
Collaborative environment working with top-tier quants, researchers, and portfolio managers.
Professional development support and learning opportunities.
Flexible hybrid work model in our Chicago office.
