The Instructional Designer
will design and develop high-quality, engaging in-person, online, and blended learning experiences for employees at all levels of the organization. This role will play a critical part in enabling organizational change, building capability, and supporting large-scale initiatives.
This position is contract to hire and located in Phoenix, Arizona.
What You'll Do Learning Design & Development
Design engaging in person, virtual, and blended learning experiences aligned with business goals and learner needs
Apply adult learning principles and instructional design best practices to create practical, high impact learning solutions
Research and integrate emerging technologies and concepts into training initiatives
Develop (and oversee development of) a variety of learning assets, including:
eLearning modules
Virtual instructor led training (VILT)
Instructor led training (ILT) materials
Job aids, guides, and performance support tools
Instructional audio, video, graphics, illustrations, activities, role plays, case studies, and simulations
On the job reinforcement activities
Partner with subject matter experts to translate complex content into clear, learner centered experiences
Lead instructional design efforts for large scale system or process changes, including development of role based learning paths
Create learning objectives aligned to evaluation methods that demonstrate learning impact
Perform other responsibilities as assigned by leadership
Collaboration & Stakeholder Partnership
Consult with HR, IT, and business stakeholders to assess learning needs and recommend effective solutions
Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting timelines, quality standards, and stakeholder expectations
Gather and incorporate feedback to refine and improve learning experiences
Evaluation & Continuous Improvement
Measure learning effectiveness, engagement, and application
Use data and feedback to iterate and enhance content and learner outcomes
Ensure learning solutions remain relevant, scalable, and sustainable
What You'll Have
Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education Technology, Learning & Development, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience
3–5+ years of experience designing corporate learning solutions
Demonstrated experience developing online and blended learning
Strong understanding of adult learning theory and instructional design models
Experience working with learning technologies (LMS, authoring tools, collaboration platforms), including Adobe Captivate & Creative Cloud, Creative Cloud, Articulate Storyline, iSpring, Camtasia, Envato
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Strong knowledge of instructional design principles and educational technology
Visual design skills with the ability to storyboard effectively
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, financial reports, business plans/strategies, and legal documents
Ability to manage and meet aggressive deadlines in a high-volume environment
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with a variety of SME’s
Experience supporting HRIS or enterprise system implementations (Dayforce strongly preferred)
Project management skills preferred
Familiarity with change management or large-scale transformation initiatives

Flexibility to work different schedules and stay late with little or no notice
Must be able to read documents, use a computer, communicate verbally and in writing
