Job Details We are seeking an experienced Heavy Civil/Heavy Highway Estimator to join our team. This role involves preparing accurate cost estimates for large-scale infrastructure projects, including highways, bridges, and other civil works. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and federal compliance requirements. You will collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to develop competitive bids and ensure project success.
Your Role Includes
Analyze project plans, specifications, and requirements to prepare detailed cost estimates.
Develop and maintain accurate take-offs, pricing, and bid proposals.
Collaborate with internal teams and subcontractors to gather pricing and scope details.
Ensure compliance with federal regulations and funding requirements when applicable.
Participate in pre-bid meetings and provide input on project strategies.
What You’ll Need
Minimum 5+ years of estimating experience in heavy civil/heavy highway construction.
Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
Proven track record with large-scale projects (multi-million-dollar scope).
Federal project experience is a major plus (knowledge of FAR, Davis‑Bacon Act, Buy America provisions).
Strong proficiency in estimating software (HCSS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple bids simultaneously.
