The Designer is responsible for the design of men’s activewear and active lifestyle apparel for an industry-leading brand. This role partners closely with the Design Manager to deliver strong, market-relevant design solutions tailored to key retail partners.

Responsibilities

Continuously research trends in concept, color, mood, and styling through forecasting and trend services. Shop the market and refine ideas to meet the specific needs of off-price and club retailers in accordance with the design calendar.

In partnership with the Design Manager, establish the overall tone and direction of the product line by interpreting market trends, forecasting insights, and retailer focus while maintaining brand identity.

Design silhouettes aligned with the overall design direction and merchandising plan, with a strong client‑focused approach.

Collaborate in the development of color palettes and the selection of fabrics and trims.

Create sketches and CADs using Adobe Illustrator.

Develop detailed tech packs for costing, sampling, and production using Centric PLM.

Communicate brand vision and creative direction to the Design Assistant to ensure consistency and clarity throughout the development process.

Maintain clear communication regarding project status and deadlines with Merchandising, Sales, Design, Technical, and Production teams.

Ensure design inspiration is developed and presented in a timely manner to licensing and retail partners, incorporating feedback into the line as needed.

Present initial design concepts and proposals to internal design, merchandising, and sales teams.

Partner with the Graphics team to ensure all graphics align with seasonal direction and remain cohesive with brand and retailer requirements.

Develop SKU plans in collaboration with Merchandising and Sales.

Ensure sampling at all stages of development aligns with the approved merchandising plan.

Work directly with overseas offices throughout the development process.

Ensure trim development is completed and approved on schedule to support sample timelines.

Collaborate with Merchandising and Sales to gather feedback from sales teams and retailers, ensuring business objectives are met without compromising design integrity.

In partnership with the Design Manager, evaluate and resolve development and production issues that impact product aesthetics.

Attend fittings and review samples to ensure execution aligns with the design vision.

Qualifications

5+ years of design experience

Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or a related field

Proven design experience in men’s apparel and activewear

Strong knowledge of fabrications, trims, and apparel construction

Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office

PLM experience preferred

Strong communication and problem‑solving skills

High level of integrity with a strong work ethic and proactive attitude

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

Ability to manage multiple projects, timelines, and priorities

Annual salary range starting at $70,000
