JOB SUMMARY This loan trader will execute the trading strategy of the Loan Trading desk in New York to meet Loan Trading's Annual Corporate Plan. The desk mandate is to encompass broadly syndicated loans, illiquid secondary opportunities, and private credit. In addition to trade execution, the ideal candidate will evidence strong fundamental credit research skills that will be relied on to conduct thorough credit and market risk analyses for the trading desk.

Post execution, the trader will actively monitor the credit, and be accountable to the Head, Loan Trading, Americas on income performance. The ideal candidate will therefore wear multiple hats that involve identifying credit trading opportunities, managing risk, and executing the trading strategy while ensuring that relevant risk limits and all other necessary authorisations are in place. RESPONSIBILITIES Execute the North American strategy for Loan Trading in making the market on loans (including private credit and leveraged loans) to client counterparties, and churning book inventory within risk-approved ageing limits. Accountable for all workstreams across the bank required for the proper entry, portfolio/position risk monitoring and exit of proposed risk trading positions. Exercise strong trading acumen and manage trading risks proactively. Support the Head, Loan Trading, Americas in credit and pricing analysis, execution of loan trading strategy, and work with Sales in sourcing appropriate trade ideas for Loan Trading. Exercise trading acumen in recommending credit buy and sell calls to match client supply and demand within specific issuer and ageing limits, while adding to Loan Trading's target income and RoRWA KPI towards fulfilling the Annual Corporate Plan. Support the Head, Loan Trading, Americas in monitoring of portfolio credit quality, credit migration, returns analysis and internal reporting requirements. Promote a working environment where compliance with internal control functions and the external regulatory framework is a central priority of the business. Work closely with colleagues and with other stakeholders, including Sales, credit analysts, Traded Risk Management, Legal, Compliance, Operations and Finance. Ensure that trades comply with issuer and ageing limits set by Traded Risk Management. To embed Operational Risk monitoring as an integral part of the business process. Towards this, to effectively carry out the assigned role, if any, under Compliance Risk Management and Operational Risk Management Assurance. Ensure business functions under the desk's area of responsibility comply with internal policies, procedures, codes and applicable external laws and regulations and adhere to the expected high standards set out in the Markets Code of Conduct. Ensure adherence to all internal and external regulations and procedures. Ensure that the business meets its obligations for the prevention of money laundering under the Group Policy and Standards and under local laws and regulations. Perform other responsibilities assigned under Group, Country, Business or Functional policies and procedures; Multiple functions (double hats); trade bookings, credit and risk assessments, risk approval procurement, risk management of book positions, compliance with all risk limits and regulations, prudent management of ageing assets Qualifications •

Education

Undergraduate degree, MBA (Preferred) •

Languages

English At least 7 years of experience in the following: •

Trading and/or investment in loans •

Strong credit analysis skillset, with an ability to recommend or decline trades •

Comfortable and adaptive at making risking calls •

The final offer will be determined on an individualised basis using a number of variables, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience and education, internal relativity, and specific work location.
