
Tax Data Entry Clerk
As a Tax Data Entry Clerk, you will be responsible for managing, validating, and maintaining tax exemption certificates to ensure accurate sales and use tax compliance across applicable jurisdictions. The position works closely with internal teams and customers to support exempt transactions, reduce audit risk, and maintain proper documentation. Collect and review tax exemption certificates (sales tax, resale, nonprofit, government, etc.) from customers. Verify certificate completeness and validity. Follow up with stores/customer when not properly completed. Utilize ECM to track expiration dates and proactively request updated or renewed certificates. Identify and resolve missing, expired, or invalid certificates gaps to reduce audit exposure. Communicate with customers, vendors, and internal teams to obtain missing or corrected certificates (via phone and electronic devices). Run periodic reports on exempt sales and certificate status. Actively participate in learning initiatives offered such as training programs, workshops, and webinars. Leverage these opportunities to acquire new knowledge, refine existing skills, and stay current on the latest developments. Provide friendly, proactive, and professional internal and external support to others, assisting with inquiries, concerns, and issues promptly and effectively. The pay rate for this position is $15.00 per hour and is bonus eligible. Exact compensation is determined by factors such as relevant geographic location, education, certifications, experience, job level, shift, and organizational needs. Eligible associates may also receive overtime pay in compliance with applicable laws.
