About the Role
We're seeking a
Senior Infrastructure Technical Writer
to drive the creation of clear, concise, and high-quality documentation for enterprise-class infrastructure and cloud platforms. This role is critical in enabling global operations and engineering teams to support complex systems with confidence.
What You'll Do
Research and analyze requirements for new infrastructure builds across data center and cloud environments. Develop and maintain detailed
Visio diagrams
illustrating network connectivity, transaction flows, and system components. Partner with project managers to define documentation strategies and timelines. Collaborate with engineers across Windows, Unix, Cloud, Network, Security, SQL DB, and Monitoring disciplines to capture technical details. Author and publish documentation for two primary audiences:
Operations Support teams
(HTML knowledge articles in ServicePoint Knowledge Management System). Platform Engineering teams
(reference guides in MS Word).
Lead virtual documentation turnover sessions via Microsoft Teams. Contribute to a centralized documentation team through peer reviews, mentoring, and best-practice sharing. Documentation Formats
Online knowledge base Printed guides What We're Looking For
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, English, or related field. 10+ years of experience producing technical documentation in IT infrastructure or systems/hardware domains. Strong knowledge of server farms, networking protocols, firewall security, monitoring tools, and WAN/LAN configurations. Advanced
Visio diagramming skills . Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into accessible content. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines. Self-starter mindset with proven ability to conduct independent research and deliver results. Experience hosting and facilitating Teams meetings. Familiarity with documentation standards and processes; willingness to collaborate and refine them. Hands-on experience with
ServiceNow Knowledge Base
