This individual will be responsible for creating procurement strategy from the ground up, establishing best-in-class processes, and driving value through strategic sourcing, vendor partnerships, and disciplined spend management.This is a high-impact, leadership role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and has deep experience procuring equipment, services, and materials within the power generation or energy infrastructure markets.Key ResponsibilitiesEstablish and lead the end-to-end procurement function, including policies, procedures, and governanceDesign and implement a formal RFP/RFQ/RFI process, including bid evaluation and award recommendationsLead vendor selection, negotiation, and contract strategy, ensuring optimal cost, quality, and deliverDevelop and execute strategic sourcing initiatives across major spend categories (equipment, EPC services, fuel-related services, O&M, logistics, etc.)Build strong supplier relationships while maintaining competitive tension and performance accountabilityPartner cross-functionally with engineering, construction, finance, legal, and operations teamsImplement supplier performance metrics and continuous improvement initiativesSupport project-based procurement for new power generation assets and infrastructure developmentIdentify cost-saving opportunities and manage procurement riskScale procurement capabilities to support rapid company growthQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field (MBA or advanced degree a plus)10+ years of progressive procurement or strategic sourcing experienceProven experience in power generation, energy, utilities, or large-scale infrastructure projectsDemonstrated success building procurement functions or significantly improving procurement operationsStrong experience with RFP development, vendor analysis, and complex negotiationsExcellent business judgment with the ability to balance speed, cost, and riskComfortable operating in a startup or high-growth environmentStrong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skillsPreferred ExperienceProcurement experience supporting power plants (gas, nuclear, renewable, or hybrid)Experience sourcing large capital equipment and EPC servicesFamiliarity with Texas energy markets and regulatory environmentExperience working with remote and cross-functional teamsInterested in hearing more?
