Job Description As an
Insurance Sales Development Representative (SDR)
for
State Farm Insurance South Bay Agency , you’ll drive agency growth through
outbound prospecting, lead qualification, and appointment setting . This role is ideal for someone who is
goal-driven, persuasive, and comfortable on the phone , with an interest in
insurance sales, customer acquisition, and relationship building .
You’ll support our agents by building pipeline, engaging prospective customers, and helping connect people to the right
auto, home, life, and financial services
solutions.
Key Responsibilities (ATS + performance-focused)
Make high-volume outbound calls to prospective customers to generate interest in insurance and financial services.
Identify, qualify, and nurture leads by gathering customer information and assessing needs.
Set appointments for licensed agents and ensure smooth handoff of qualified opportunities.
Conduct follow-up outreach on marketing leads, referrals, and re-engagement campaigns.
Provide initial product information and answer basic questions about coverage options and next steps.
Use a CRM to document call activity, outcomes, notes, and scheduled appointments.
Maintain accurate prospect records and manage multiple leads in various stages.
Track and report on activity and results (ex: dials, contact rate, leads qualified, appointments set).Follow all agency guidelines, compliance standards, and call scripting requirements.
Qualifications / Skills
1+ year experience in telemarketing, inside sales, call center, appointment setting, or lead generation (insurance preferred).
Strong phone presence, communication skills, and ability to build rapport quickly.
Confident handling objections and rejection; resilient and motivated by goals.
Comfortable working in a metrics-driven environment (KPIs/targets).
Proficient with CRM software and basic computer skills.
Interest in learning insurance products (Property & Casualty, Auto, Home, Life) and willingness to train.
Professional, reliable, and organized.
