Responsibilities and Duties: • Design and implement database architectures that support business requirements and achieve high performance, availability, and security. • Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of PostgreSQL databases. • Conduct performance tuning of database systems, including queries, stored procedures, and indexing strategies. • Develop and implement database backup, recovery, and failover procedures. • Assist in the design and development of data models and database solutions. • Collaborate with development teams to optimize database code in application layers. • Provide guidance on database best practices to IT staff and other stakeholders. • Ensure database infrastructure is up-to-date with the latest technology trends and security patches. • Develop and maintain documentation regarding database configurations, architectures, and procedures. • Serve as the point of contact for database-related queries and technical support.

Qualifications: • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. • Strong expertise in PostgreSQL database administration, tuning, management, and security. • Proficiency in SQL and experience with PL/pgSQL or similar procedural language. • Familiarity with database design, documentation, and coding. • Previous experience with Linux/Unix and scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Perl. • Knowledge of high availability and disaster recovery options for PostgreSQL. • Good understanding of hardware performance, memory and I/O. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Excellent communication and mentoring skills.

Preferred Qualifications: • PostgreSQL certification (e.g., PostgreSQL Certified Engineer). • Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, OCI) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes). • Familiarity with other database systems (e.g. Oracle and MSSQL
