Job Summary
The Content & Field Communications Manager leads the creation and implementation of a comprehensive content strategy that strengthens the organization’s brand, enhances donor engagement, and amplifies stories of our investors and of need and impact from the field. This role curates and manages multimedia content — including stories, photos, videos, and data — ensuring all materials align with marketing priorities, safeguarding standards, and organizational values. The Content & Field Comms Sr Manager also coaches and builds the capacity of field communications staff to strengthen storytelling and content production across regions.

Responsibilities
Content Management
- Develop and implement a content strategy aligned with organizational mission, marketing goals, and fundraising priorities.
- Source, curate, and deliver high-quality content — stories, videos, photos, and data — for use across the organization.
- Leverage existing processes (program reporting, field visits, social media, etc.) to efficiently source relevant materials.
- Build and maintain a pipeline of need and impact stories that highlight both challenges and outcomes.
- Project manage content and resource-gathering requests, coordinating with field offices, regional directors, and communications staff.
- Coordinate resource-gathering trips to the field to capture multimedia content that supports campaigns and donor engagement.
- Support emergency responses by helping design and execute rapid content gathering strategies.
- Conduct interviews with investors, staff, and shareholders to collect inspiring, human-centered narratives.
- Track content usage and performance and share results with Country Offices.
Brand & Quality Assurance
- Ensure all marketing and communication materials are aligned with brand guidelines and safeguarding standards.
- Review, proofread, and edit content for accuracy, tone, and audience relevance.
- Serve asbrandand voice guardian for all content.
- Provide direction to internal teams and external partners tomaintainmessage and visual consistency.
Multimedia Asset Management
- Oversee the digital library of photos, videos, and written content, ensuring assets are well-organized, tagged, and accessible.
- Maintainmetadata tagging, version control, and efficient retrieval systems.
- Regularly audit and refresh assets to ensure quality, relevance, and alignment with brand standards.
Collaboration, Training & Outreach
- Coach, mentor, and train field communications staff on storytelling, photography, videography, and ethical content gathering.
- Facilitate Communications Communities of Practice to promote collaboration and skill sharing.
- Collaborate with marketing and program teams to ensure storytelling supports campaigns and donor engagement.
- Develop and manage a freelancer rosterinCountry Offices to expand storytelling capacity and regional coverage.
- Provide strategic input on storytelling approaches and content priorities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
- 7+ years of progressive experience in content management, communications, or storytelling roles, ideally within a global, humanitarian, or nonprofit context
- Demonstrated experience leading or coordinating content initiatives across multiple regions, teams, or stakeholders
- Proven experience managing end-to-end content projects, including planning, briefing, delivery, and evaluation
- Demonstrated ability in one or more creative disciplines, such as writing, photography, or videography
- Experience training, mentoring, or supporting staff and partners, with the ability to give and receive constructive feedback
- Strong understanding of safeguarding requirements, ethical considerations, and risk management in content creation
- Experience operating in fast-paced, dynamic environments requiring adaptability, sound judgment, and resilience
- Excellent communication and relationship-management skills, with the ability to collaborate across cultures and influence without formal authority
- Bilingual or multilingual capability is an asset
