Senior Associate, PCB Parts Designer
to support the development of advanced radio communication equipment used by the military and first responders. This role focuses on PCB parts and library design, enabling high-reliability electronic assemblies for new and existing products.
The ideal candidate will leverage Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools to create, maintain, and improve schematic symbols and PCB footprints while ensuring compliance with manufacturing, assembly, and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions
Utilize Siemens/Mentor PADS Designer and Layout software for PCB parts design
Utilize AutoCAD for mechanical design support
Create and maintain schematic symbols for Electrical CAD (ECAD) libraries using component vendor datasheets
Create and maintain copper pad footprints, solder mask, and solder paste patterns in accordance with:
Vendor datasheets
IPC standards
Internal company design guidelines
Develop and maintain ECAD footprints for use by Mechanical Engineering teams
Ensure all fabrication, manufacturing, and assembly requirements are met
Review drawings and component datasheets for dimensional accuracy and compliance
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 2 years of related experience, OR
Graduate Degree with 0-2 years of related experience, OR
In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of related experience
Preferred Skills & Experience
Knowledge of CAD software tools
Familiarity with SMT and through-hole components and PCB packages
Understanding of mechanical dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
Strong attention to detail
Working knowledge of PLM tools such as Agile, Teamcenter, or similar systems
