The Leasing Manager is responsible for driving occupancy, managing the leasing process from first inquiry through move-in, and delivering an exceptional resident experience. This role combines sales leadership, market knowledge, and operational coordination to ensure leasing goals are met while maintaining brand standards and compliance.
Responsibilities Leasing & Sales
Lead all leasing activities, including tours, follow-ups, applications, and lease execution
Meet or exceed occupancy and leasing targets
Develop and implement leasing strategies based on market trends and property
Price units strategically in coordination with ownership/management
Hire, train, and manage leasing agents
Set performance goals and conduct regular coaching and evaluations
Ensure consistent sales messaging and service standards
Partner with marketing teams on listings, promotions, and campaigns
Ensure property listings are accurate across all platforms
Resident Experience
Address prospective resident questions and concerns promptly and professionally
Support retention initiatives and renewals when needed
Operations & Compliance
Ensure leases, applications, and documentation are accurate and compliant with Fair Housing laws
Maintain CRM and leasing reports with up-to-date data
Coordinate with property management, maintenance, and move-in teams
Prepare a comprehensive monthly report including financials, numbers and percentages of renewals and non-renewals, outstanding collections, evictions, new leases, and move-in
Qualifications
5+ years of leasing and property management experience
Proven sales background with strong closing skills
Deep understanding of local rental market trends
Strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills
Proficiency with Yardi
