Based in West Islip, we work across a range of civil scopes including earthwork, utilities, roadwork, concrete, and site development. Due to continued growth, we are looking to add an experienced Civil Estimator to our team.
As a Civil Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for heavy civil construction projects. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure bids are thorough, realistic, and aligned with project requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed cost estimates for heavy civil construction projects Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents Perform quantity take-offs for labor, materials, and equipment Solicit and analyze subcontractor and supplier pricing Identify risks, opportunities, and value-engineering options Support bid submissions and assist during contract negotiations Maintain historical cost data and estimating databases Collaborate with project teams during preconstruction and handover Requirements:
Proven experience as a Civil Estimator in heavy civil construction Strong knowledge of civil scopes such as earthworks, utilities, paving, and concrete Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications Experience with estimating software and Excel Strong attention to detail and analytical skills Excellent communication and organizational abilities APPLY
