Position Overview Responsible for managing a designated Commercial Investment Real Estate loan portfolio, including portfolio management, credit underwriting, construction monitoring, and ensuring compliance with bank and regulatory guidelines. Responsible for the quality of underwriting and ongoing portfolio management metrics for portfolio under purview. Assists Commercial Relationship Managers in the management of client relationships while maintaining a high degree of creditability. Acts as a mentor to junior team members. The incumbent typically works on loans/portfolios of significant complexity as the incumbent’s work requires little oversight.

Primary Responsibilities

Underwrite, monitor, and analyze assigned Investment Real Estate portfolio; ensure risks are identified timely and maintain a high degree of accuracy and quality underwriting, aligned with the bank's risk appetite and regulatory standards.

Lead complex transactions including construction loans, multi-level capital structures, and large developments, while communicating clearly to solve problems and recommend credit structures, risks, ratings and policy compliance.

Monitor and ensure the portfolio remains within acceptable tolerances and published KPIs/KRIs.

Assist Commercial Relationship Managers in client relationship management, optimizing relationships and working directly with Relationship Managers.

Ensure satisfactory reviews by regulators, internal auditors, external auditors and loan review bodies for underwriting depth, policy exception identification and underwriting stress analysis.

Collaborate on group-wide initiatives to improve processes, roles and responsibilities, or output; mentor junior Underwriting Portfolio Managers.

Present proposed credit actions in written analysis documents and verbally in committees and meetings.

Perform other related duties and projects as assigned.

Physical Requirements or Work Conditions Beyond Traditional Office Work Travel may be required on occasion.
