Summary This position reports to the Indirect Tax Manager and will be responsible for railcar property tax return preparation.
Duties And Responsibilities To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform the following essential duties satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned to address business needs and changing business practices.
Prepare railcar personal property tax returns
Communicate with taxing authorities regarding railcar property tax.
Research railcar property tax issues.
Perform other tasks as required to support the railcar property tax function of the Company.
Specific Job Skills
Candidate must have the ability to communicate well, both orally and in writing, with Company personnel and with external consultants and taxing authorities. Candidate must have good analytical and interpersonal skills and must be able to work under deadlines and pressure.
Qualifications The following generally describes requirements to successfully perform the assigned duties.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Minimum of two years of experience working with indirect tax.
Minimum of two years experience in preparing property tax returns.
Minimum of two years experience with spreadsheet and word processing software and with web-based filing and payment protocols.
Experience with PTMS (property tax preparation software).
