Alloy Engineering is an employee‑owned, debt‑free company specializing in custom metal fabrication for high‑temperature and corrosive industrial applications. We work with a wide range of alloy materials, including Nickel, Hastelloy, Inconel, Incoloy, Stainless Steel, and other heat‑ and corrosion‑resistant metals.

Our capabilities include the fabrication of ASME Heat Exchangers, ASME Pressure Vessels, Furnace Muffles, High‑Temperature Fans and Blowers, and other engineered fabrications. We serve industries such as Automotive, Aerospace, Chemical Processing, Steel and Primary Metals, Heat Treating, and General Industrial Manufacturing. Position Summary The Sales Engineer will be responsible for a combination of account management and new business development, promoting Alloy Engineering’s custom‑engineered fabrication solutions throughout the Eastern United States. This role focuses on relationship‑driven, value‑added technical selling while expanding market presence and exceeding sales targets.

Key Responsibilities Sales & Business Development (Primary Focus)

Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve revenue goals and grow market share.

Actively manage and grow assigned accounts through regular customer visits and ongoing engagement.

Identify and develop new customer relationships within the assigned territory.

Generate RFQs by identifying customer needs and application requirements.

Negotiate pricing and close sales opportunities.

Recognize and communicate new products or application development opportunities to management.

Attend and represent Alloy Engineering at trade shows and industry events.

Customer & Relationship Management

Build and maintain strong relationships with plant engineers, project managers, and procurement teams.

Understand both stated and unstated customer needs and position Alloy Engineering’s solutions accordingly.

Resolve customer issues and complaints in a timely and professional manner.

Maintain accurate customer activity, pipeline, and documentation within CRM tools.

Collaboration & Technical Support

Work closely with engineering, production, and sales support teams to align customer requirements with fabrication capabilities.

Read and interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints to support solution selling.

Stay informed on industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activity.

Outside / Inside Sales Mix

Outside Sales: Territory travel, customer visits, on-site selling, trade shows

Inside Sales: Forecasting, lead generation, quote follow‑up, documentation, and pipeline management

Travel up to 50%

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a technical discipline, or equivalent experience.

3–5 years of industrial or technical sales experience preferred.

Proven success in consultative, solution‑based sales.

Experience or familiarity with metal fabrication; high‑temperature or corrosive applications preferred.

Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.

Strong communication, organizational, and negotiation skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and CRM systems.

Self‑motivated and able to work independently from a home‑based office.

Commitment to safety procedures and ongoing skill development.
