South Texas Blood & Tissue is an AABB-accredited blood bank. It operates nine donor centers in South Texas, distributing blood, plasma, platelets, and other components to regional hospitals and emergency first responders. It also provides starting materials to therapeutic developers, and clinical research services. Its apheresis center received FACT accreditation in 2022 for peripheral blood cellular therapy product collection. As an AATB-accredited tissue bank, it offers tissue recovery from living and deceased donors.
Pay Rate: Hourly $23.50-$27.00/ Annually $48,880.00-$56,160.00

General Summary Responsible to support the achievement of blood collection goals by recruiting volunteer blood donors to donate at mobile blood drives.
Conduct all aspects of donor recruitment at assigned blood drive locations.
Prepare various reports, perform computer data entry, contact donors and assist mobile Donor Recruitment functions.

Support, communicate and reinforce the mission and vision of the enterprise.
Provide world class customer service by capturing and being responsive to the voice of the customer (internal or external, including donors for select positions) through multiple feedback channels in order to resolve issues and drive satisfaction in accordance with the BBG customer engagement, feedback, and complaint processes.
It is essential that the incumbent have a valid driver's license and be at least 18 years old with a good driving record to meet organization driving standards.
Major Duties And Responsibilities Essential Tasks
Recruit potential blood donors at sign up and tabling events for upcoming drives, and as needed, recruit potential blood donors on-site, day of drive.
Make educational presentations to new and potential donors regarding the need and benefits of donating blood.
Plan and execute specialty and one-off drives as needed and when assigned, including platelet/apheresis drives.
Attend and help coordinate as needed, day of drive blood drive operations.
Prepare accurate and timely reports for donor recruitment programs and teams.
Coordinate with Donor Marketing to schedule system-level notifications (emails).
Canvas social media and local events for new opportunities.
Review recently completed drives for calendar rollover opportunities.
Assist with incentives and packet preparation.
Schedule donors as required.
Assist with campaigns, promotions, and events.
Support the recruitment efforts for employee blood drives.
Deliver marketing materials.
Schedule and attend planning meetings.
Attend blood drives to manage donor flow, educate donors and help with recruitment efforts.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Non-Essential Tasks
Run departmental errands as directed.
Assist with High School Red Cord and Rewards programs.
Education Requires a high school diploma or general equivalency diploma.
Licenses and/or Certifications Valid United States Driver’s License.
Experience
Requires one year of customer service or event planning/management experience.
Requires one year clerical work experience.
Knowledge
Must acquire a thorough working knowledge of all phases donor recruitment.
Must be able to acquaint self with existing donor recruitment computer programs.
Skills
Must be capable of operating motor vehicles in all types of weather conditions.
Must have strong computer skills.
Must have excellent telephone and/or email etiquette skills.
Abilities
Must be a self-starter and self-directed worker.
Must be able to keep information confidential.
Must be neat in appearance and well groomed.
Must be professional, organized, detail oriented, communicative, and have the ability to greet the public in a friendly and courteous manner.
