Role Description This is a part-time/flexible commission-based, remote, role based in Virginia Beach, VA, for an Event Sales Manager. The Event Sales Manager is responsible for generating new business, managing client inquiries, converting leads into booked events, and maintaining strong client relationships. This role is ideal for a results-driven individual with strong communication and closing skills. Responsibilities include identifying and engaging prospective clients, maintaining client relationships, collaborating with event teams, and assisting the assigned Event Coordinator with managing all event logistics and operations to ensure exceptional experiences. The role will also involve meeting sales goals, preparing proposals, and ensuring event budgets are adhered to. The Event Sales Manager will work closely with the Marketing and Advertising Director to implement creative ideas to increase visibility and clientele.
Key Responsibilities
Respond to incoming client inquiries (email, website, phone, social media)
Conduct client consultations (virtual and via phone)
Prepare and present customized event proposals and service packages
Close sales and secure signed contracts and deposits
Maintain CRM records and sales pipeline tracking
Collaborate with the Event Coordinator and Marketing team on promotions and client follow-ups
Identify new revenue opportunities, partnerships, and referral sources
Qualifications
Proficiency in Event Planning and Event Management to organize and execute successful events
Strong Sales skills with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
Effective and strong verbal & written communication and interpersonal skills to engage with clients and team members
Professional appearance and demeanor with a client-focused mindset
Experience in planning and managing Private Events is preferred
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
Strong organizational and time management skills
Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Event Management, Marketing, or a related field is advantageous
Experience in managing event budgets and contracts is a plus
Comfortable with commission-based compensation
Familiarity with CRM systems and Google Workspace is a plus
Part-time/Flexible Commission-based Pay Structure
Commission:
Percentage per booked event (based on package value and complexity)
Average Commission Per Event:
$250–$1,500+
Performance Bonuses:
Available for monthly/quarterly sales goals
Additional Hourly Compensation:
Available for working events
Flexible Schedule:
Evening and weekend availability required for consultations (only as scheduled), other assigned responsibilities are flexible
Internship Option (Unpaid & Stipend-based, by performance)
Hands-on sales training and mentorship
Real-world experience in client acquisition and business development
Potential transition to paid commission-based role upon successful completion
