Sr. Transformation Consultant - Full time - Detroit The Senior Transformation Consultant guides and coordinates transformation initiatives to ensure alignment with organizational goals and successful execution. This role manages complex escalations, navigates dependencies, and advances work in ambiguous situations by applying critical thinking, persistence, and emotional intelligence to build strong relationships.

The consultant uses data-driven decision making and proven improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, Agile) to drive operational excellence, identify constraints, conduct root cause analysis, and manage projects effectively. Acting as a catalyst for organizational change, they guide teams through redesign, implementation, and transitions while proactively engaging leaders and staff to uncover opportunities, mitigate risks, and deliver results.

Responsibilities include developing proposals, quantifying ROI, creating business cases, and designing project plans with clear milestones and executive updates.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Strategic Alignment & Oversight

Partner with executives to ensure transformation projects align with enterprise operating plan goals and long-term priorities.

Manage escalations and cross-project dependencies, establishing clear resolution pathways.

Contribute to shaping organizational direction by aligning project outcomes with strategic objectives.

Advance transformation initiatives by coordinating sequencing, milestones, and portfolio priorities.

Apply Lean, Six Sigma, Agile, and CI tools (e.g., process mapping, value stream mapping, kaizen) to drive sustainable improvements.

Leverage advanced data analysis to track performance, interpret dashboards, and provide insights that inform executive decision-making.

Develop and validate business cases and ROI models to demonstrate measurable outcomes.

Translate complex analyses into actionable insights that shape enterprise decisions.

Establish governance systems to sustain improvements, monitor portfolio impact, and ensure accountability across the enterprise.

Communication & Change Management

Build strong relationships with executives, leaders, and frontline staff using emotional intelligence and influence.

Lead change initiatives by developing strategies, engaging stakeholders, and supporting adoption of new practices.

Coach and mentor consultants and leaders on communication, situational awareness, and change management principles to strengthen enterprise adoption.

Engagement & Value Delivery

Proactively engage with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities, mitigate risks, and achieve measurable results.

Benchmark best practices internally and externally to inform solutions and elevate system performance.

Promote innovation and continuous learning across transformation initiatives.

Professional Development & Leadership

Mentor and support team members, fostering growth in continuous improvement skills and enterprise-first leadership behaviors.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Bachelor’s degree is required.

A degree in nursing, healthcare administration, organizational development, human factors, a science degree, business administration, industrial or related engineering in a related field, or similar field is preferred (with quality/operations improvement emphasis).

4+ years experience in project management, industrial engineering, healthcare administration or other related field required.

Ability to manage simultaneous assignments with potentially conflicting priorities and deadlines.

Ability to be flexible and adaptable while still meeting goals and due dates.

Additional Preferences

Experience applying problem solving approaches.

Solid foundation and growing base of analytical/technical, facilitative, and process improvement tools/knowledge.

Strong knowledge of effective data gathering techniques.

Ability to thrive in a matrixed working environment.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED Must meet or exceed core customer service responsibilities, standards and behaviors as outlined in the Henry Ford Health Customer Service Policy. Must practice the customer skills as provided through on-going training and in-services.
