Summary / Objective
The Outreach & Expansion Director serves as an organizational and spiritual leader responsible for guiding Mountain Springs Church’s local and global outreach efforts. This role mobilizes the church body into Christ-centered mission by stewarding partnerships, developing leaders, and building systems that translate the church’s vision into measurable impact.
This position also carries responsibility for project management and the development of sustainable, scalable systems and processes that support campus expansion and leadership development.
Essential Functions

Provide vision, leadership, and pastoral oversight for all local outreach and service ministries.
Plan and lead local mission weekends, church-wide service initiatives, and quarterly outreach efforts.
Integrate outreach initiatives into the life and rhythms of the congregation.
Champion neighborhood engagement efforts, including the Cultivate initiative, fostering a culture of presence, service, and hospitality.
Oversee global missions initiatives in partnership with the Global Missions Coordinator, including mission weekends, short-term mission trips, and partner relationships.
Cultivate and steward long-term local and global mission partnerships.
Ensure consistent, clear, and compelling communication for all outreach and missions initiatives.
Coordinate outreach alignment across multiple campuses to ensure unity of vision, strategy, and execution.
Lead outreach planning for new campus launches and seasonal initiatives.
Develop training resources and lead meetings to equip volunteers and leaders.
Design and implement the “Build the Future” initiative to increase congregational engagement in outreach.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Communications, Connect, Hospitality, and Finance teams to support outreach strategy, messaging, and stewardship.
Establish and oversee leadership development systems for outreach and mission teams.
Coordinate logistics and execution for leadership development initiatives beginning in 2027.
Support SEND quadrant strategies, mission-centered projects, and leadership development experiences.
Manage projects independently from conception through completion while maintaining collaboration with senior leadership.
Handle confidential information with discretion and exercise sound judgment in complex situations.

Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those required to perform the essential functions of this role. The employee is regularly required to talk and hear and frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, and reach with arms. The position requires visual and auditory acuity and the ability to lift, push, or pull up to 30 pounds. The role may involve unpredictable situations and varying schedules.
Requirements
Required Education and Experience
Three to five years of relevant experience in a church, ministry, or team-based environment
Preferred Education & Experience
Five to ten years of relevant leadership or ministry experience
Experience leading volunteer and staff teams
Experience developing outreach systems and leadership pathways
Familiarity with church management systems (ChMS), Apple products, and Microsoft Office

Work Authorization / Security Clearance
Employee must be authorized to work in the United States and possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
