Position Overview The Construction Director is responsible for overseeing all construction operations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to quality standards. This role provides strategic leadership across project teams, superintendents, and project managers while partnering closely with ownership and executive leadership.

This is a key leadership position for someone who understands construction from the ground up and is ready to guide people, processes, and performance at a higher level.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and mentor project managers, superintendents, and field leadership.

Establish clear expectations, accountability, and performance standards.

Build a culture centered on safety, teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement.

Partner with ownership/executive leadership on long-term planning and growth.

Operations Oversight

Oversee all active construction projects across multiple sites.

Ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and aligned with contract documents.

Identify risks early and implement solutions before they impact delivery.

Standardize processes to improve efficiency, communication, and outcomes.

Review project budgets, schedules, change orders, and cost forecasting.

Work with estimating and preconstruction teams to support smooth project handoffs.

Monitor labor productivity and subcontractor performance.

Ensure financial performance aligns with company goals.

Safety & Quality

Champion a strong safety culture across all jobsites.

Ensure compliance with OSHA standards, company safety policies, and industry best practices.

Maintain high-quality standards in workmanship and documentation.

Support safety leadership and continuous improvement initiatives.

Client & Partner Relations

Serve as a senior point of contact for key clients and partners.

Support business development through strong project execution and relationships.

Address and resolve escalated issues professionally and proactively.

Qualifications

10+ years of construction experience, including senior leadership roles.

Strong background in commercial construction (ground-up and/or renovations).

Proven experience leading teams and managing multiple projects.

Deep understanding of scheduling, budgeting, and contract management.

Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
