Position Summary The Director of Information Technology at State Technical College of Missouri will play a critical role in leading and managing the college's IT operations. Reporting directly to the VP of Finance, the Director of IT will be responsible for overseeing the daily IT operations, including hardware and software installations, technology troubleshooting and support, and managing a team of IT technicians and system administrators. The Director of IT will collaborate closely with the VP of Finance to ensure that all major changes and policy implementations align with the college's strategic goals and technological standards. Successful candidate will have both strong leadership skills and a strong technical background.
Key Responsibilities Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the VP of Finance to develop and implement the college's IT strategy, ensuring that it aligns with the institution's overall objectives.
Team Leadership: Manage and provide leadership to the IT team, including technicians and support staff, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and collaboration.
Daily IT Operations: Oversee the day-to-day IT operations, ensuring the reliability and availability of the college's hardware and software infrastructure.
Hardware and Software Management: Manage the procurement, installation, maintenance, and replacement of hardware and software systems across the college.
Technology Support: Ensure that all faculty, staff, and students receive effective and timely IT support, troubleshooting, and assistance.
Policy Implementation: Assist the VP of Finance in developing and implementing IT policies and standards that adhere to industry best practices and regulatory compliance.
Budget Management: Collaborate with the VP of Finance to develop and manage the IT budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and optimal resource allocation.
Security and Compliance: Maintain and enforce IT security policies to protect the college's data and infrastructure, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
Vendor Relations: Manage relationships with IT vendors and service providers, negotiating contracts and agreements to secure cost-effective services.
Project Management: Oversee IT projects, ensuring that they are completed on time and within budget while meeting quality standards.
Training and Development: Promote the professional development of IT staff, keeping them updated on emerging technologies and best practices.
Reporting and Documentation: Provide regular reports on IT operations and performance to the VP of Finance and college leadership. Maintain accurate documentation for IT systems and procedures.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (Master's preferred).
At least 8 years of progressive IT leadership and management experience.
Knowledge of higher education IT environments is strongly preferred.
Excellent leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in budget management
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
IT industry certifications (e.g., ITIL, PMP, SEC+, CISM) are a plus.
Strong technical knowledge and experience with IT systems, hardware, and software.
