About the Role Are you a motivated, customer-focused sales professional with a passion for design and home improvement? Floor Coverings International of Monterey is seeking a Design Associate / Outside Sales Consultant to bring the showroom experience directly into clients’ homes. You’ll help customers select flooring solutions that fit their style, budget, and lifestyle — all while building lasting relationships.
This is a high-energy, independent sales role for someone who thrives on connecting with people and enjoys a supportive, family-oriented work environment.
Responsibilities
Visit clients in their homes to understand needs and guide flooring selections.
Use your design knowledge to create functional, beautiful solutions.
Manage the process from consultation to installation with attention to detail.
Build long-term relationships and referral networks.
Utilize our tech-driven sales system (tablet/laptop) to stay organized.
What We Offer
Base Salary $50,000 + Uncapped Commission
Performance-based bonuses
Paid training and ongoing development
Flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
Company van and gas coverage for appointments

What We’re Looking For
2+ years in in-home or outside sales (flooring experience preferred)
Strong knowledge of flooring products and trends
Customer-first mindset with exceptional communication and follow-through
Self-motivated, organized, and goal-oriented
Tech-savvy with CRM and quoting tools
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
