The Center for Campus Life seeks an Assistant Director to assist with the university‑wide orientation program, large‑scale traditions and other retention‑based programming provided by the Center.
Programing (40%)
Serve as advisor for the Cardinals Activities Board
Responsible for the coordination of a vibrant calendar of programming and engagement opportunities sponsored by the Cardinal Activities Board
Collaborate with the Manchester and Worcester Campus Life departments regarding programming
Assist Campus Life staff in planning large‑scale programs such as Welcome Week, Family Weekend, Late Night Breakfast, ClamBQ and Senior events
Coordinate monthly programs with the Cardinal Cart
Oversee Boston‑based ticketing events for students such as sporting games, Broadway shows and more
Manage the Cardinals Across the World wall
Assist implementation and administration of the New Student, Transfer and Family/Guest Orientation programs for the Boston Campus
Coordinate the virtual MCPHS Orientation Connect using the Comevo platform with the Manchester and Worcester campuses
Student Leader Recruitment and Training (20%)
Chair the Student Leadership committee with other campus‑wide hiring managers
Serve as the lead for Campus Life student leadership position recruitment and coordination of hiring
Create, review and evaluate student applications for leadership positions
Hire, train and supervise 12 Cardinals Activities Board student leaders
Responsible for the coordination and implementation of the Student Leadership training programs for all student leaders and employees within the Center for Campus Life
Marketing (15%)
Manage and create content for the Center for Campus Life social media accounts (including but not limited to: Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, etc.)
Create and send the This Week in Campus Life weekly event email
Coordinate advertisement of Campus Life event flyers on campus media outlets
Operations (25%)
Monitor and approve the Atrium & Cardinal Lounge Event Space Request Form to reserve the Atrium and Cardinal lounge spaces
Assist in the management of the Cardinal Pride Portal for the Boston campus
Upload new users to Campus Groups monthly
Management of the Campus Life page and budget tracking on the Cardinal Pride Portal
Assist the Director in designing, purchasing and installing wall wrap decals around campus
Provides operational support for Campus Life student leaders and clubs/professional organizations including room reservations, work orders, and purchases
Coordinate facilities work orders for all Campus Life programs
Create and manage the Student Government Association Presidential and Senate elections
Submit payment requests weekly and credit card receipts monthly
Develops coordinating documentation, such as user manuals, job aids and screen guides
Conducts training classes for new employee orientation
Requirements Required:
Bachelor's degree in higher education administration
Minimum of two years' experience working within Campus Life/Student Activities with a focus on student involvement, engagement and inclusion
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
Ability to work occasional nights and weekends
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Preferred:
Master's degree in higher education administration
Physical Requirements
Typical office or administrative working conditions. Staff is not exposed to adverse environmental conditions. Work is primarily sedentary in nature; there are no special physical demands.
Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone
Work requires the ability to travel to other campuses and campus events
Nights and weekend work on occasion
Compensation The pay range associated with this posting reflects the amount the University reasonably expects to pay for this role at this time. Salary offers are determined based on experience, skills, and qualifications as well as internal equity, market data and pay in comparison to similarly situated employees doing comparable work.
Hiring Range:
$56,600 - $62,900
